June 4, 2014 - Fannie Mae will now allow servicers to approve borrowers for the Fannie Mae Unemployment Forbearance program as well as for Unemployment Forbearance extensions provided that specific requirements are met.

May 30, 2014 - In conjunction with Freddie Mac and under the direction of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, Fannie Mae is announcing a number of short sale and Mortgage Release policy updates and clarifications.

May 27, 2014 - The update contains changes pertaining to delayed financing, continuity of obligation, multiple financed properties, large deposits and other assets, power of attorney, and definitions for retail, broker, and correspondent origination types.

May 21, 2014 - This Announcement updates Fannie Mae policies on calculating the repurchase price for certain loans with negative amortization, release of security, servicer oversight and business continuity requirements, and stay of foreclosure and other legal proceedings for servicemembers. An updated version of the Application for Release of Security (Form 236) is available on Fannie Maes website.

May 16, 2014 - This Announcement updates a number of delinquency management and default prevention servicing policies.

May 12, 2014 - Fannie Mae announces a number of enhancements to the representation and warranty framework.

May 9, 2014 - This Announcement updates requirements for submitting lender-placed insurance certification to Fannie Mae. The Announcement also defines terms related to servicing transfers and updates the timeline for submitting a Request for Approval of Servicing Transfer or Subservicing (Form 629) to Fannie Mae.

May 6, 2014 - Effective immediately, unemployment compensation may be used in qualifying a borrower for a DU Refi Plus or Refi Plus loan whether they are seasonal or non-seasonal in nature.

March 28, 2014 - Fannie Mae is updating the modification terms for mortgage loans with pre-modified mark-to-market LTV ratios less than 80. It supersedes and replaces SVC-2013-28, Fannie Mae Standard Modification and Streamlined Modification Updates, in its entirety. This Announcement also updates requirements related to the Evaluation Notice, solicitation letter, and Trial Period Plan.

March 25, 2014 - Clarifies property and appraisal requirements for properties in small towns and rural areas, especially on policies relating to appraiser selection, property eligibility and special considerations, and acceptable appraisal practices.

February 26, 2014 - This Announcement clarifies and updates policies regarding individual mortgage loan files, servicing quality control reviews, final requests for reimbursement, attorney expenses, and transfers of variances and waivers.

January 14, 2014 (Updated February 25, 2014) - The Announcement limits the priority of regular common expense assessments for mortgages secured by units in certain condo and planned unit development projects to no more than six months over Fannie Maes mortgage lien.

February 4, 2014 - Fannie Mae has approved the acquisition of CMG Mortgage Insurance Company (CMG) and its affiliates by Arch U.S. MI Holdings, Inc. Until further notice, the MI Code and ULDD Enumerated Value used to identify loans insured by CMG remain unchanged. Fannie Mae has suspended the approval of the following affiliates of existing approved mortgage insurers--MGIC Indemnity Corporation (MIC), Radian Mortgage Assurance Inc. (RMAI), and Genworth Residential Mortgage Assurance Corporation (GRMAC).
