Uniform Mortgage Data Program Announcements

The Uniform Mortgage Data Program® (UMDP®) is an effort undertaken jointly by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac at the direction of the Federal Housing Finance Agency to enhance data quality and standardization.

Participating in the URLA Limited Production Period May 19, 2020-Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (the GSEs) invite lenders who meet the eligibility criteria and prerequisites below to participate in the Uniform Residential Loan Application (URLA) Limited Production Period (LPP) beginning on August 1, 2020. During the LPP, participants will use the redesigned URLA (Fannie Mae Form 1003/Freddie Mac Form 65) and updated Fannie Mae Desktop Underwriter® (DU®) and Freddie Mac Loan Product Advisor® automated underwriting systems (AUSs) to originate loans in a controlled implementation.
ULDD Updates to Support SOFR ARM Index Transition April 21, 2020-Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac published an updated Uniform Loan Delivery Dataset (ULDD) Specification and additional loan delivery implementation details in support of the industry transition to SOFR-indexed ARM loan products.
Extended URLA Implementation Timeline April 14, 2020-Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae (the GSEs) will extend the implementation timeline for the redesigned Uniform Residential Loan Application (URLA) and automated underwriting systems (AUSs) to support the industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. The new mandate date for the use of the redesigned URLA and AUS specifications is March 1, 2021.
GSEs Delay Uniform Closing Dataset Critical Edits Implementation April 7, 2020-Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have been planning for a 2-year transition to convert certain edits in their Uniform Closing Dataset (UCD) collection solutions from “warning” to “critical.” In recognition of industry feedback, competing priorities, and COVID-19, the GSEs have delayed the implementation of UCD critical edits until further notice.
Changes to the DU Spec MISMO V3.4 Published March 19, 2020-Fannie Mae published changes to the DU® Spec MISMO V3.4 as part of the continued effort to support implementation of the redesigned Uniform Residential Loan Application (URLA) Form 1003 and DU Spec by the Nov. 1 deadline.
UMDP updates to support SOFR ARM index transition March 10, 2020-Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (the GSEs) have updated certain Uniform Mortgage Data Program datasets, including the DU® Specification MISMO V3.4, Uniform Closing Dataset, and Uniform Loan Delivery to support future use of SOFR-indexed ARMs.
UCD Collection Solution User Interface Redesign February 20, 2020-UCD Collection Solution User Interface Redesign
On March 2, 2020, The UCD Collection Solution User Interface (UI) will be updated to reflect a more dynamic look-and-feel designed to improve user experience. The update will be visible within UCD when users log in with their standard credentials and will not interrupt the UCD submission process. Users are encouraged to test performance in the UCD Test Environment prior to the UI rollout.
Updated Interactive (Fillable PDF) Version of the Redesigned URLA January 29, 2020-Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (the GSEs) have published the interactive (fillable) PDF versions of the redesigned Uniform Residential Loan Application (URLA) with an effective date of 09/2020, along with corresponding supporting documents. These interactive forms comprise the final version of the loan application to be supported by the industry in system development and preparation of the redesigned URLA and updated GSE-specific automated underwriting system (AUS) specifications for the November 1, 2020 mandate.
URLA February 1, 2020 Mandate Rescheduled; New Requirements Provided August 8, 2019-At the direction of Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (the GSEs) announced in June 2019 that the optional use period for the redesigned Uniform Residential Loan Application (URLA) and automated underwriting system (AUS) implementations would be postponed.
