Managing Applications

As a Corporate Administrator, you are authorized to manage applications for your organization. This includes setting up applications, requesting access to applications, granting user groups access to applications, and deactivating applications.

Each Fannie Mae application is represented by a unique set of application business rules (ABRs). These rules ensure that users are not given access to applications and roles that conflict with each other, or cause conflicts within an application itself. The rules have been built into Technology Manager and are triggered automatically. If an application does not satisfy the rules, Technology Manager will display a message about the rule and what must be done to continue, or who to contact for more information.

Once an application has been selected for activation, a default User Group Name and User Group ID will be granted to the application under the main 5-digit organization.

Categories of Applications

There are four categories of applications:

  • Active Applications - Managed:  Already set up for the organization and can be managed in the self-service system.
  • Active Applications - Non-Managed: Set up by Fannie Mae for your organization, but are not managed by the Administrator in Technology Manager.
  • Available Applications:  Ready to be set up and added to an organization’s list of active applications, but need to be first set up for user groups and data folders before they can be further associated to users within the organization. An Available application may require agreement to Terms and Conditions as part of the setup process.
  • Eligible Applications:  An organization is eligible to gain access, based on the organization’s Technology Profile. There are some steps that the organization and/or Fannie Mae must complete before it can be put into the Available Applications list.
  • Applications Not Listed: If you can't find the application, then one of the following may apply:
    • If you're a Corporate Administrator and you cannot find the application that you need, make sure that you have the correct name for the application. See these pages on FannieMae.com for applications lists: Single Family Technology Solutions or Multifamily Learning Center.

    • Your company may not be eligible for that application.
    • If you need to request an application not listed, you can Request an Unlisted Application.
