Changing a System ID Password
This job aid explains how to change the password associated with a System ID. Upon its creation, the new password will automatically be set to expire in 365 days. Password expiration notifications will be automatically sent to all Corporate Administrators, and to all User Administrators who do not have a Corporate Administrator (based on the Roles job aid) using the email address associated with the System ID. Email notifications will be sent 60 days, 30 days, 14 days, 7 days, 3 days and 1 day in advance of the password expiration date until the password is reset. If the password is not reset by the expiration date, the ID will be locked. If no action is taken to address the locked ID, the ID will be deactivated 90 days later.
Note: It is important to plan before you begin to change the password, be prepared to update the new password in the appropriate systems and servers to avoid any interruption to business activities. If you are using an LOS, be sure to update the password in the LOS system as well.
