Education and Counseling

This document shows you the Education & Counseling screens.

Note: The first section below covers homeownership education (i.e. HomeView®), followed by the section covering housing counseling (including housing counseling from a HUD-approved agency).  It is important to note these are two distinct types of programs and lenders should ensure that the type of program the borrower has completed is accurately reflected in these sections.

 

Homeownership Education

Note: As the data in this section is associated with the Supplemental Consumer Information Form (Form 1103), the lender must verify the date of completion and HUD Counseling Agency ID Number provided match the information from the Housing Counselor. If the lender does not have the information from the Housing Counselor, these fields should not be completed.

Note: Housing counseling and homeownership education programs are offered by independent third parties to help the borrower understand the rights and responsibilities of homeownership. A list of HUD-approved housing counseling agencies can be found at: www.hud.gov or www.consumerfinance.gov.
