Ethnicity Origin Information

Loan Delivery provides lenders the ability to enter a borrower’s ethnicity origin as it appears in the loan application. If a borrower selects multiple Ethnicity Origin values, the lender can select Add Ethnicity Origin to include all values.

Ethnicity origin information can be found on the loan application in the Demographic Information of Borrower section as seen here.

Entering Borrower’s Ethnicity Origin Information in Loan Delivery

Loan Delivery provides a list of four specified ethnicity origin values as well as a text box ethnicity origin option as seen below.

When to Select this Option

Cuban

If the borrower selects the box next to Cuban on the loan application, select this option.

Mexican

If the borrower selects the box next to Mexican on the loan application, select this option.

Puerto Rican

If Puerto Rican the borrower selects the box next to Puerto Rican on the loan application, select this option.

Other

If the borrower selects the box next to Other Hispanic or Latino on the loan application, select this option.

Text box

If the borrower entered a value in box following Other Hispanic or Latino – Enter Origin, select the Ethnicity Origin box and type it in.

Follow these steps to enter the borrower's ethnicity information.

  1. Select the applicable ethnicity origin value.

NOTE: When providing an Ethnicity Origin value such as Cuban, the borrower does not have to select the higher level Ethnicity value Hispanic or Latino. However, if both Ethnicity and Ethnicity Origin are provided by the borrower, they should both be reported to Fannie Mae at delivery.

  1. Click Add Ethnicity Origin.

  1. Select the applicable option from the Ethnicity Origin drop down menu.

  2. If the Ethnicity Origin is not in the drop down, type it in the text box and click Add.

  3. Click Delete Ethnicity Origin to remove any Ethnicity Origin selection.

  4. Repeat this process for all provided Ethnicity Origins.

  5. Click Save after all the fields have been completed.
